Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying for civil engineering, structural, and building works.
• Ensure all works are set out in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
• Check and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information.
• Record as-built information for quality assurance and handover documentation.
• Liaise with the site management team, subcontractors, and design team to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain daily site records, including site diaries and quality control checks.
• Ensure works comply with health & safety requirements and company policies.
• Assist with preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
• Monitor materials, plant, and workmanship for compliance with specifications.
• Support measurement and reporting of progress against programme.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of setting out techniques, equipment (total station, GPS, laser levels), and software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with site teams and subcontractors.
• Organised with ability to manage workload and priorities under pressure.
• Awareness of health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Setting Out Engineer in civil engineering or construction projects.
• Full EU driving licence.
